Kevin Wei accepted to Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra

Of the nearly 30 cellists that auditioned this May, Kevin Wei was one of only 12 accepted as a new member of the PYSO orchestra. With less than 2 years of experience, Kevin will be joining the ranks of the highly promising young musicians of the San Gabriel valley many of whom have been studying their instruments for over 5 years.

The Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra has been training tomorrow’s classical musicians since 1972. Celebrating its 37th year in 2008-2009, PYSO is considered among the best youth orchestras in the Southland. This exceptional ensemble is comprised of talented middle school students from grades six through nine who receive advanced instruction and challenging music opportunities through a rigorous program that emphasizes ensemble playing and includes a minimum of three concerts a year.
